LG takes on Motorola Moto G; will Launch new Smartphones

    Categories: Gadgets

The smartphone industry has been booming and blaring all sorts of newer smartphones in the market. All round the year people are excited about the new iPhone and its rumors and concept design stories never stop. Nokia has been teasing people for several weeks about its new smartphone with rumors going on it to be an Android from an Microsoft owned company. Recently the budget cellphone which has been making news is the legendary budget smartphone, Motorola Moto G (which featured in Ultimate Valentine Gift Ideas).

Many Indian companies are trying to take over Motorola Moto G but LG is trying to take out the Motorola Moto G globally. LG in this year’s Mobile World Congress (MWC 2014) will be launching three new budget smartphones in its mid-range L-Series. The three models to be featured are L90, L70 and L40. In a press-release the president and CEO of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company, Dr Jong-seok Park was quoted as saying “In addition to inheriting the refined design aesthetic that is synonymous with LG’s premium devices, the L Series III provides an array of user benefits that extend far beyond a simple upgrade.”

Why the hell should this matter to me?

If that’s the question you have then let me tell you these three phones will come preloaded with Google Android 4.4 Kitkat. Since LG will be taking on Motorola Moto G they did needed to come up with a better USP and that’s it, three budget phones with Android 4.4 Kitkat. While the Motorola Moto G comes with Google Android 4.3 Jellybean; budget phones with Android 4.4 is a good addition since the only phone available in the market with Android 4.4 Kitkat is Google’s Nexus 5.

Now I got your Attention; What are the specs?

Notable Specs of LG L90

  • 1.2GHz Quad Core Processor with 1GB RAM
  • 4.7 inches Screen with resolution of 960X540
  • 8GB Internal Memory
  • 8MP Rear Camera and 1.3MP Front Camera
  • 2540mAh Battery (Removable)

These are pretty decent specs for the L90 but we aren’t sure if the phone comes with an expandable memory or not because since its taking Motorola Moto G which doesn’t has expandable memory; it doubts us whether LG also might include expandable memory. The second phone to feature in the L-series is the LG L70 and here are its known specs.

  • 1.2GHz Dual Core Processor with 1GB RAM
  • 4.5 inches Screen with resolution of 800X480
  • 4GB Internal Memory
  • 5MP Rear Camera and VGA Front Camera
  • 1700mAh Battery (Removable)

We aren’t sure about the camera on LG L70; there are rumors that two version of the phone might be available depending the countries they will be launched. One with rear camera of 8MP and the other version might include 5MP rear camera.

The L40 is definitely a phone I would recommend users at AllTechTrix because the specs are way too old but since Android KitKat does runs smooth on low-config phones we might never know what to expect?
