Micromax yesterday on 24th January, 2014 announced that it will starting its operations in largest country in the world area wise i.e is Russia. Along the past year we have been hearing news that Micromax has plans to go international and the first international country it wanted to target was Russia but it wasn’t sure when. Yesterday the official press release of Micromax stated that it was going to start its mobile smartphone division is Russia with 14 smartphones from its arsenal.
The smartphones are featured from Micromax’s Bolt and Canvas series which are a lot popular in India. According to the press release it states it has aggressive plans in the Russian mobile handset market and promises to offer innovative products which will be customised with the need of Russian market.
Micromax is partnering with VVP Group, one of the leading distributors in Russia to sell it Canvas and Bolt series smartphones which Micromax claims has sold over 35Million Devices in India. Micromax plans to have 60 operation service centre in the largest country of the world by the end of the month. Looking at Micromax poor service in India not much can be expected in Russia but who can say starting operations in Russia just might bring good luck to Micromax and start providing good service in India. Me too is a Micromax Canvas A110 user and thank god I didn’t to face their service because I had handled all of the glitches in my cellphone.
We just hope that Russians don’t suffer the bad service faced by Indians here. Micromax along with VVP group is banking on to become the top 5 mobile handset supplier in the country. Here is what VVP Group chairman Mr Vasily Sibirtsev has to say “We are very excited to work with Micromax, one of the world’s leading mobile phone brands. We will be working aggressively to strengthen our presence in the retail space across 9000+ sales points in the country backed by an efficient service infrastructure.”
Russia is the initial country Micromax is targeting to enter into the European market. And only time and Micromax service will tell how it fares in the Russian market. Meanwhile have a look at this Service from Micromax
