This list has been carefully carved thinking about uses of an average Indian consumer and what features he expects to see in smartphones under 15000. 15,000 Rupees is a sweet spot where you’ll find some great features from the company’s flagship smartphones that fit right into your budget.

I had mentioned it earlier and let me say it now once again, I have been to various electronics stores that have smartphones on display where I spend a little good time with several smartphones, and then made this list. I even went through reviews and videos posted about these smartphones to get an idea what the big guns of the tech industry have to say about them. The List was made based on Build Quality, Screen Quality, OS and its operations, Processing Power, UI Performance and some more crucial factors. This list was not made just by looking at specs sheet but on how a smartphone actually works!

Number 5: Xiaomi Mi4

Xiaomi has really got into the nerves of the Indian buyers and with the Xiaomi Mi 4, they have further proven their approach to the Indian market. The Mi 4 is one of the best smartphones in the 15,000 budget. It only costs 14,999/- and comes with tons of features. The FullHD display adds value to the smartphone.

With a powerful process, great camera and tons of other features, I would definitely put it into our recommended list to buy in 2015.

The specs of the smartphone do pack a punch. With a Quad-core 2.5 GHz Krait 400 processor, the smartphone has everything you can ask for. The processor is powered by the MSM8974AC Snapdragon 801 processor and 3 GB of RAM. Impressive indeed!

On the other hand, it offers 5-inch of IPS display, capable of 441 PPI pixel density display, capable of rendering HD quality. The internal memory of the smartphone is also not disappointing. With 16 GB of internal memory and 64 GB of external memory support, you can always find a lot of space to do anything.

Number 4: Micromax Yu Yureka

Micromax Yu Yureka has seen it all. It came with a bang, but later on people didn’t love the battery and its proximity sensor.

Still, it is a great price for the price it is coming for.

The built quality of the smartphone is great and perfect for any smartphone under 15000. You get a great finish.

Coming to hardware, this smartphone under 15000 hosts a Quad-core 1.7Ghz and 2 GB of RAM. The MSM8939 Snapdragon 615 powers the device and is one of the most impressive ones out there.

Display wise it is quite vibrant and offers a 5.5-inch resolution with a rendering of 720×1280 pixels one. On the camera front, it offers 13 MP primary camera for great pictures. The rear camera is powerful during the day but fades away in the night. The quality is just good in the night.

Moreover, it offers  5MP for front-end camera for taking selfies.

With Cyanogen powering the smartphone, it has one of the most customizable operating systems out there.

The battery life is disappointing as it offers only 2500mAh battery. The battery can drain fast and it is advisable to buy a power bank for better endurance.

Number 3 – Asus Zenfone 2 ZE551ML(2 GB)

Asus Zenfone is no stranger for many. It is seen as one of the best smartphones under 15,000 and lately have proved one of the best options for the users.

Asus has always dominated the mid-range segment. Their previous phone, Asus Zenfone 5 has really proved a lot in the past and now comes the Asus Zenfone 2. There are currently 2 variants out there. The first one is 4 GB, which cost 19,000 INR. On the other hand, 2 GB comes under 15K and you should be really excited about it.

The phone is powered by a Quad-Core 1.8 Ghz processor and 2 GB of RAM. The other specifications are also great. It offers Gorilla Glass 3 and have a 5.5-inch wide screen.

The Camera is good as it offers 13 MP rear camera for taking excellent photos. For selfie lovers, the smartphone offers 5 MP camera. Other than that it comes with dual-sim and runs Android Lollipop. Overall, a great all-rounder.

Number 2 – Samsung Galaxy S4

Samsung is one of the oldest players who are in the market for long. But, what makes them so different. Their premium phone are costly and not in the budget of mid-segment buyers. That’s going to change with Samsung Galaxy S4. The features of premium smartphones are now available for only 15,999 INR.

With a 5-inch display, the Samsung Galaxy S4 offers decent screen at this price point. The screen offers full-HD and and body is also strong and durable.

The OS is quite old related to the current trend in smartphones. It offers Android v 4.2.2, which is not a bad deal as you can always update the operating system of your smartphone. Another point that I must make is that the smartphone is single-sim and only comes in Deep Black.

Under the hood, the smartphone is powered by quad-core 1.2 cortex A7. Other variants come with  Quad-Core 1.6 Ghz Cortex A-15. The liquid memory of the samrtphone is 2 GB, which is more than enough for normal usage.

Internal storage of the smarphone is good and offers 16 GB of internal memory. For heavry users, the smartphone offers 64 GB of external memory. The battery is 2600 mAH and is quite good for medium smartphone users.

Number 1: Xiaomi Mi 4i

Again Xiaomi? That’s sound quite surprising. Don’t be suprised as Xiaomi is released some of the best smartphones under the 15,000k price tag. The Xiaomi Mi 4i is targetted for users who are looking for something similar to Mi3 and Mi4.

Specification wise, the smartphone is just great. The hardware is quite amazing to say the least. The smartphone is powered by Quad-core 1.7 GHz Cortex-A53 and runs on top of the Qualcomm MSM8939 Snapdragon 615 chipset. Both of them are helped by the internal 2 GB RAM.

In terms of internal storage, the smartphone offers 16 GB of internal storage. The only downside is that there is no external memory. But, overall this is the best bang for buck under 15,000 price tag.

The smartphone offers HD display and comes with corning gorilla glass 3. It is also very light and is only 130 g.

On the software front, it comes with MiUI, which is one of best-customized user-interface for android smartphones.
