Xiaomi Redmi Note 4G Review

    Categories: Gadgets

Lately, I have been pursuing the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4G for some obvious reasons. Its price has been dropped to $143.69 and right now it can be the best phablet that you can get for that price. Today, I will extend more of my understanding by reviewing the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4G. The 4G edition is the big brother of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3G and offers better connective capabilities compared to its sibling. But, does it really make an impact on already a competitive market? We will find it out soon.

Design and Quality

Xiaomi Redmi Note 4G is a sturdy smartphone and carries the same look and feel as its counterpart 3G version. The black face front-end is matched quite nice with the white background and offers great overall contrast.

The buttons are focused on the right-hand side of the build. With power button and volume rocker button close to each other, the usage becomes easy.

Albert of good design, one-hand usage is a little tricky and might require you to use both hands on many occasions — still it provides the best possible user experience.

Specifications and Software

Hardware specification is one of the most important factors and Xiaomi Redmi Note 4G is no exception in this case either.

Main Features

  • Android 4.4 OS, 1GB RAM + 8GB ROM
  • 5.5inch IPS capacitive Screen, 1280*720pixels
  • Snapdragon 400 MSM8928, Cortex A7 quad core, 1.6GHz
  • 13.0M Pixels High definition back camera with flashlight and auto focus, front 5.0M camera
  • Single SIM single standby, standard SIM card
  • Support FM/MP3/MP4/Bluetooth/GPS/Wifi Function

Xiaomi Redmi Note comes with 1.6 GHz quad-core processor. The processor is made by none other than Qualcomm as their snapdragon series is still going strong in the processor marketplace. The powerful processor is coupled with 2 GB of RAM and 8 GB of internal storage.

The external storage of the smartphone is bumped up to 64 GB when compared to the 3G version and that’s a welcome step for the media junkies who always love the extra space for their movies and videos.

Furthermore, it offers a 5.5 inch 720 x 1280 pixels screen for an optimal media experience. To make the experience more better it comes with a 3100mAh battery that can easily last a long day.

With the hardware, you can play every game lag free and also play video playback without any shutter.

On the camera front, you will get a 13-megapixel rear camera and 5-megapixel front camera. Both of these cameras offers quality image and video capture. The front camera can be a treat for the selfie lovers.

On the software front, I found the MIUI on Android 4.4 quite appealing. The MIUI is one of the best user interfaces that has been stocked on top of the android 4.4. It is always in active development and updates are released frequently.

On the part of the connectivity, 4G is what makes the smartphone a great choice. It also offers Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and other connectivity options. The single sim is one of the drawbacks only if you are looking for a dual-sim setup.
