Whenever you want to make a new website, you have to register your desired domain name, unless you decide to go for a free account on one of the many blogging platforms. Registering a domain name is very easy. The most difficult part of the process is finding the best domain registrar. There are so many options, that you could easily spend days or even weeks and still not know which one to choose.

It’s probably a good idea to go with one of the biggest names in the industry. This would decrease the risk of losing your domain name to hackers or other virtual criminals out there. You should never underestimate such threats, as you might wake up one day and discover you are no longer the owner of your own domain name.

GoDaddy, Namecheap and Name.com are among the biggest players in this industry. All of them are trustworthy and safe, so you don’t risk anything by choosing any of them. The main difference between the three companies is their price policy. For instance, GoDaddy loves coupons. You can find countless coupons that give you nice discounts for new registrations, as well as for transfers and renewals. However, the user interface is quite annoying. In order to get to register a domain name, you have to go through several up-sell offers. You don’t need those additional services, but some people add them to the cart and pay for them without even realizing what they are doing. However, if you don’t mind navigating through these screens, you can register your domain names for relatively smaller fees.

Namecheap offers a clean interface and a straightforward purchasing process. They are a great choice for one of the best domain registrar.  There are not heavy up-sells to bother you. However, there aren’t too many discount coupons either. They usually release only one or two promotions per year, so if you fancy saving one or two dollars, they may not be your cup of tea.

Name.com is similar to Namecheap. They also give good discounts for domain transfers, so if you already own a domain name, you may want to consider transferring it to them in order to save a few dollars.

All three registrars offer the option of automatic renewals, so that you don’t risk to lose your domain names by omitting to renew them in due time. They also have a good search utility, so you can discover new names and the extensions still available for each of them. They all offer multiple paying options, from bank transfers to PayPal payments. They accept all major credit and debit cards as well.

Choosing one of the three best domain registrars mentioned above is a matter of personal preferences. If you want a fast and easy registration process, you should avoid the heavy interface of GoDaddy and rather choose Namecheap or Name.com. If you want to register multiple domain names, however, you might want to choose GoDaddy, in order to take advantage of their discount coupons. Just ponder all these options before making your final decision, and you are going to be fine.
